Hill & Hill Design was started by myself and my sister Mary in 2008, at the time Mary was working as a designer for a bespoke furniture company and I had my own business designing residential interiors with hand-sewn curtains and antiques, mainly for the domestic market.
Two of our brothers own nursing home chains and I found that I was doing more and more work for their homes so Mary & I decided to join forces, concentrating on the care sector. John & Peter became our first clients. Creativity and imagination were key in creating the boutique hotel look on an extremely tight budget and at the time limited fabric choice.
Times have changed since 2008, Mary left to set up her own Kitchen design company, we launched a new website , survived covid lock downs, and yet the business has grown considerably whilst still managing to give a personal service to each of our clients.
Our Care home furnishings website was created as a one stop shop for care home owners to purchase furnishings easily in one place. Projects vary from one pair of curtains to a complete ‘turnkey’ fit out. We are hands on throughout the whole process, from suggesting fabrics through to hanging curtains.
An initial conversation starts the process and gives us direction to produce ‘mood boards’ and suggestions. Once a scheme has been chosen, our talented team get to work making curtains and furniture ready for the fitting team to hang and arrange.
Designing interior schemes for care homes has been great fun over the years, and we have been rewarded with many happy residents and repeat clients.
